Eph. 2:11-22: Relating to the Other

Sermon preached at RUF’s Wednesday Night Fellowship on March 27, 2019. Jesus tears down walls of hostility and builds bridges in their place. But Jesus is not just a bridge-builder, he is a home-builder too, joining together a bunch of otherwise isolated, mismatched stones to create a place of warmth, hospitality, laughter and love. He points to this project and says, “This is my address. This is my home.”

Eph. 5:21-33: Relating to Marriage

Sermon preached at RUF’s Wednesday Night Fellowship on March 6, 2019. The essence of marriage is commitment. Marriage is messy because it is always and forever two sinners saying, “I do.” And marriage, at its best, is a drama, a play, a living-breathing work of art that offers us a glimpse/foretaste of who Jesus is and what his love is like.
